“Breaking Ice evolved out of a journey to the Antarctica Peninsula in 2022. It was an eye-opening experience to travel to the largest and most remote wilderness on earth and be surrounded by dramatic snowy landscapes, glassy seas, blue icebergs and rich biodiversity - whales, penguins, seals and ocean birds. It was both overwhelming and surreal.”

The exhibition is an immersive multi-dimensional display featuring photographs of various scale, images on banners hanging from the ceiling, video projection which also screens in a night window onto the street, and live music with spoken word. Breaking Ice aims to give the audience an opportunity to be vicariously immersed in the beauty and awe of this visually powerful yet vulnerable ecosystem.
